Insurance and FeesIn the best of all possible worlds we would welcome all patients with all types of insurance into our practice. Sadly, doing that would force us right back into the current model of medicine where our overhead would skyrocket and we would be forced to do 8 minute patient care visits for everyone. Eight minues per patient is not good medicine. We have therefore decided to create a practice that will help the more marginalized patients in our health care system. We are currently offering family medicine to two groups; Medicare and the under/uninsured.
Medicare
We feel strongly that our seniors deserve good medical care and they should be able to take as much times as they need with their doctors. Many practices are no longer accepting Medicare patients because of poor reimbursement. If we can keep our overhead low, then we can withstand Medicare reimbursement.
Under/uninsured
People with no insurance, or not enough insurance, are the ones that suffer the most in our health care system. Ironically these individuals are the backbone of working America - the small business owners and employees, part-time workers and immigrant workers. We offer a reduced fee self-pay option for those who desire it and an affordable monthly payment plan option for those who wish to be able to easily and economically budget their healthcare dollars.
